Real Time Assessment of Smart Concrete Inspection with Piezoelectric Sensors

Utilization of an Electromechanical impedance (EMI) technique with Piezoelectric (PZT) sensors has showed potential for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). The changes in mechanical structure via flexural bending and cracking can be detected by monitoring the deviations electrical signals recorded embedded PZT sensors. This paper conducted a comprehensive study on EMI 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) structures subjected to test until plastic failure. impact different housing methods materials been studied comprehensively through signals. Experimental results indicate that material types thickness affect sensitivity readings but also performed as reinforcement when load is directly applied. have shown strong address cost lifecycle challenges posed traditional construction insertion seamlessly functions 3DCP workflows.
